This website was created as a One-Stop-Shop to provide the latest and greatest guidance for Program Offices and Airmen looking to understand more about the Department&#8217;s ongoing efforts related to Digital Transformation.<\/p><h3>What is Digital Transformation?<\/h3><p>Depending on your role and functional specialty in the Department of the Air Force, the concept of Digital Transformation may have different meaning. The Department of the Air Force Vision is &#8220;A digitally-empowered Air Force equipped with an agile workforce, state-of-the-art technologies, and intuitive processes that drive model-based enterprise decision-making, enable automation, institutionalize open architectures, and leverage authoritative models and data to ensure seamless stakeholder collaboration across the acquisition lifecycle.&#8221;\u00a0 The Space Force Digital Vision is &#8220;an interconnected, innovative, digitally dominant force.&#8221;<\/p><p>The Campaign suggests all members check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/guide.dafdto.com\/2022\/12\/16\/vision-and-foundational-documents\/\">Vision and Foundational Documents<\/a> page to read up on the basic strategies, and also follow up by viewing the short videos on the <a href=\"\/digital-awareness-training\/\">Digital Awareness Training page<\/a>.<\/p><p>Digital Transformation empowers programs\/organizations to design, develop, test and field complex weapon systems in years instead of decades.\u00a0 To initiate momentum with the Acquisition and Sustainment enterprise, a Digital Campaign was established in March 2020 with six distinct lines of effort:<\/p><p>\u2022 IT infrastructure<br \/>\u2022 models and tools<br \/>\u2022 standards, data, and architecture<br \/>\u2022 lifecycle strategies and processes<br \/>\u2022 policy and guidance<br \/>\u2022 workforce training and culture<\/p><p>The Campaign was sunset in Dec. 2022 after achieving notable successes. The momentum continues through the Digital Transformation Office, and the implementation of Digital Acquisition and Digital Materiel Management continues to be guided through formal strategies and priorities set by Acquisition leadership across AFMC, Space Systems Command, <a href=\"https:\/\/ww3.safaq.hq.af.mil\/\">Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics<\/a> (SAF\/AQ), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.safsq.hq.af.mil\/\">Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF\/SQ)<\/a>.<\/p><h3>Why Digital Material Management?<\/h3><p>An AFMC top priority is to transition the DAF lifecycle enterprise into one that leverages 21st century digital technology to deliver on our Organize, Train, and Equip mission. The vision includes a fully empowered digital workforce, trained and equipped to deliver integrated, innovative, and trusted capability, throughout the acquisition lifecycle, using DMM; enterprise level capability; and peer relationships with industry partners.<br \/>DMM is the process of integrating and employing digital methods across the entire lifecycle&#8211;from invention to retirement&#8211;for both warfighting capabilities as well as installation and mission support capabilities. <br \/>The five initiatives for realizing DMM are:<\/p><ol><li>Stricture and Secure our Data<\/li><li>Facilitate digital training across AFMC<\/li><li>Identify\/facilitate access to tools<\/li><li>Develop tactical Digital strategies<\/li><li>Establish a Digital-first culture across AFMC<\/li><\/ol><p>Further development and planning associated with these initiatives is currently underway.<br \/>It is important to note that many digital enhancements and enterprise solutions directly rely upon each other to result in \u201cdigital enterprise solutions.\u201d This reliance is also generally true across most of the AFMC Strategic Plan Lines of Effort and their respective initiatives.
